This is the first time I have ever written to the message boards. I just submitted my P90/P90X success story, "One Year Plus P90X," to Beachbody and also made a web page with a movie of the photos that I took over the past year and 90 days. I know my results weren't as dramatic as others, but I'm a picky eater and sometimes went off the diet, thus hindering my results. I'm pleased nonetheless. I posted my success story and movie at my Media Paws web site at: mediapaws.com/P90X/

Thank you to my wife, Terri, for inspiration and support before and after you passed to Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you to Tony Horton who makes working out fun!
Thank you Beachbody for terrific products!

Perry,
I don't know how you got stated with beachbody; but, I am glad that you did. I hope my story played a small part in getting you started.

Your results are amazing and worthy of trip to Hawaii. I know that you have had a terrible year. The gang at beachbody is the best support system a person could find. Plus the workouts heal you mentally and physically.

Love the pics of your dog. Keep pushing play!

WOW! What a response! It's one thing for your friends and family to give you pats on the back and support, but to get the same from people who are doing the same program and butt kicking exercises you are somehow gives a different-more incentive to work harder-type of feeling. I like it!

I always read the message boards, but never participated. This is pretty fun!

Just got done with my workout for tonight. I have yet to not hit the pause button at least 5 times during ab ripper X. It just kills me! ANyone else in the same boat? Yoga is the same as well. All the others I can keep up, but those two....killer!

Thank you for all the support and encouragement! This is a great forum!

Oh....I have one other question....Ok...two.
1. does anyone take the Performance Tablets with P90X? I have been and am also taking the vita supplements and recovery drink with P90X. Didn't know if that was overkill.

2. Are there any pdfs of the P90X workouts sheets? Mine looks like cats scratches from the first round and worse now with round two!

Take care!

Perry

Hi Perry!

I left a post at your picture thread but I didn't realize you had this one too.

Thank you for your story. I think it moves everyone who reads it. To have the determination to continue on in the face of hardship and adversity -- well, that makes one special doesn't it?

We are SO GLAD you joined the community here! You won't find a better greater source of support and inspiration than these folks!

I don't know about the supplements and yes Ab Ripper X is a monster heehee! If someone doesn't have an answer about the P90X sheets in pdf format, you might ask Steve Edwards over on the Fitness forum.

Keep on keepin' on my friend,
Smile

Perry,

Your story is definitely moving and motivating. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm glad to hear your workouts are continuing strong! Ab Ripper X is hard for sure...as well as Yoga. I feel you on those! I think you're fine on all of the vitamins & supplements you are taking.

Got thru ALL of YOGA X tonight without hitting pause. I hate that it's 90 minutes long....just not convenient sometimes. I wonder if just doing the first 60 minutes is sufficient sometimes since I do the X Stretch on day 7 religiously and a lot of the same types of moves are there. I know, I know, the entire 90 minutes is there for a reason, but...c'mon! There were times the first round that I just skipped the YOGA due to time and did the next tape in the series. I bought the 30 minute Yoga tape beachbody has, but that doesn't even come close to the X version. Hmmm. Thoughts to ponder.

I promised myself this round of P90X will be no holds barred. Very little chair, 8-12 reps, Yoga and fewer pausing in Ab Ripper.

Nancylou told me of a combo a few of you are doing by combining the Slim Series with P90X. I've never looked at the Slim Series. Guess I thought p(0 and P90X were the ones that kicked butt the most. Looks like I am mistaken. How does the Slim in Six and Slim Series compare?

Thanks!

Perry:

Your story and results are amazing. I am truly impressed by the dedication and willpower shown to complete the programs. Keep up the great work.

As for the Yoga, I, too, feel that 90 minutes is too long so that is why (said in a hushed voice) I only do about 45-50 minutes. I know to get the full benefits it should probably be the full 90 minutes but sometimes at 5:30 in the AM that is just not possible.

I have also done P90 and P90X (not really great on the eating part but not too bad). I have Slim in 6 and am starting to incorporate some of that into the cardio portions of my workouts. They are very intense leg/squat work so we'll see how that goes.

Keep up the great work.

John

Well, after waking up from an actual complete YOGA X, I am super sore today .. in a good way... in my back (spine area) and calves. I always felt those areas were worked out well, but Yoga X taught me differently. I guess I'll be giving that one considerable thought as I progress through this round.

Shushu ... thanks for the laugh and smile at the thought of my wife flexing her little biceps at me from Rainbow Bridge!

Hi Perry! Just got the 'heads up' from Nancylou that you're in here so I thought I'd come and give you a Smile !

I'm in the same group as she is, Post X, we've combined Slim Series with the X and it's a nasty hard but fun combo! I have P90, Si6, PHH, HAAK, P90X and SS. So here's my 2 cents...
Si6 is challenging enough but the repitition of it can begin to wear on you. It's only 3 DVDs, Start it up to get you familiar with the moves, the next one for a couple weeks, then progress to the last one, Burn it Up, for the remainder. Day in and day out, it gets a little too blah. Challenging still, but...<yawn> I don't think you'd love it after having all the variety of the X. Slim Series is Debbie's "X". At least, that's how it was described to me by Heather (Aztlgrl) and she was right. It's challenging and you switch it up on a daily basis and you sweat like a crazy person. With the looks of your results, I'm guessing you'd be in the lookin' for Slim Series if you're at all going to go that route. Ok, that was long enough to be 4 cents... Smile

You've had some really great results Perry, hats off to ya!!!! Big Grin

neeeena1 - Getting yourself some clubs is a great idea!! Smile

I wish I could say I lead an active life style since using beachbody, but outside of golfing once in awhile and trips to the dog park, most days I sit behind a computer. I look at lots of people who now get out biking, rock climbing, etc and think...why I am I sitting here? But, technology is something I love and requires me to be at a computer. Occassionally I get out to hug a tree. At least I feel healthy sitting at a desk! Smile

Everyone, thank you for your kind words and support. This round of P90X is going even better than expected. I'm almost finished with week two and have increase my ability to do pull ups without a chair from 4 to 7 or 8 in only the second week. Weird. Maybe I'm feeling good on those days. It's just suddenly I feel stronger. Must be brining it good!

Since I make videos for a living it seems only logical to make a video documentary about my life and what beachbody has done to help. I'm having a friend, who worked with me making videos in the past, come over on Tuesday to help me film. I don't want to use just a tripod. She's gonna follow me around all day as well as go through a few of the work outs and do an interview type thing. Should be fun!

Then I can add that to all my sample videos on my web site as well as add to my P90X site. If I like the way I edited it, I might even send beachbody a copy. We'll see.

Perry -

Sometimes I have the same problem, well, kind of. I have a typical desk job from 9-5 and it does not lend to too many physcial activities. Today I took an extra long lunch and went home for a PLYO workout (I missed it yesterday) and then will do Arms and Shoulders X tonight. I am doing 2 solid weeks of the X before Tony's Boot Camp in Santa Monica and on top of that, trying to do doubles. Do you use bands or weights, I saw both in the video?

I wish I knew how to do videos like that...I would make a TON of them for all sorts of family gatherings, etc. I have a boat load of digital pictures. I love to take them, especially of my 3 yr old Siberian Husky Logan. She hates getting her picture taken even though I do it so often! BTW, Logan and I frequent the dog park too, it rocks when it isn't muddy!!! Maybe someday you can teach me the video thing Big Grin

Shushu - sounds like a pretty intense workout regimen. I never tried two in one day. I suppose with the summer off from school I could, but the side biz and dog rescue keeps me busy enuff!
Plyo over lunch? YIKES! You rock!

What is Tony's Boot Camp in Santa Monica?

Weights and Bands...I use both. I only own 20# and 30# wieghts, so use the red and green bands for everthing else. Been thinking of going to buy more wieghts now that I can actually lift other amounts. I get really good results from the bands, too!

Videos! I love making them. I also love turning the ordinary home video and make it into memorable keepsakes. One of my business pitches that I tell clients is: "Give you home movies a Hollywood makeover." I have lots of sample on my site. I also use video editing to my advantage to showcase German Shepherds I get into my rescue. Potential adopters can see how a dog interacts and behaves before adopting.
Maybe someday I can show you how to take those digital photos and put motion to them and add a soundtrack. It makes the average slideshow much more dynamic and fun to view. Do you use Mac or PC?

What does Logan look like? Post a pic!

Perry
